Making Baby BOY Clothes!

There are so many cute and easy patterns to make outfits for little girls, but you have to be creative to make cute things for little boys. I decided to put my sewing machine to use and make Gavin some new clothes. I had a ton of fabric left from his bedding, so I made him a pair of shorts and sewed an owl onto his onesie to make a complete set. I didn't have a pattern, so I made one up using a pair of shorts he already had as a guide. I like the way the outfit turned out. I also got lots of new fabric, so I will be posting more things I make soon!

Simple Easter Wreaths

I found these simple wreaths at the dollar tree and painted them with a bright color. I used some of the eggs that I covered in fabric and hot glued ribbon to them to hang from the wreath. I made little rosettes out of ribbon and tied some little bows to add a little something extra.

I love decorating my house for every Holiday. Easter is a special Holiday because we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. It means more to me and my family than chocolate bunnies, pretty dresses, and Easter egg hunts.

So Many Plastic Easter Eggs...

We had so many plastic easter eggs in a box in our attic and I wanted to utilize them in some Easter decorations to display.
Here is what I came up with:

Tiered Serving Trays!

I love all things crafty. I was reading a blog a while back and loved this idea. http://tatertotsandjello.blogspot.com/2010/02/dollar-store-serving-tray-tutorial.html

I bought scrapbooking paper that matched my dining room and got the trays from the dollar tree. I spray painted a glass candle holder and hot glued the trays together. I also covered the finished trays with a varnish so that I can wash them after serving food. Not only did the trays turn out great, but the entire project only cost a few dollars!

I already have a photo blog where my husband and I post pictures of our sweet baby Gavin. www.growingkohnsfamily.blogspot.com

But I decided to start a blog so that I can share my crafts, my ideas, and insight into my life as a stay at home mommy. I love reading other blogs and getting inspiration from other moms and crafters. It's my hope that this blog will do the same to others!
